xViz Pro Suite Visuals are Now Completely Unlocked & Free Forever for Power BI Desktop

by | May 6, 2020 | xViz

Effective today, all the xViz Pro Visuals are fully unlocked and completely free forever for Power BI desktop users. This means that users can now use the xViz Pro visuals without any kind of feature restrictions or watermarks on Power BI desktop.

Why are we making this change?

For the last 13 consecutive years, Microsoft Power BI is the only BI Platform to have remained a leader in the Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for BI & Analytics. A key reason behind its success & popularity is the enablement of Self-Service BI adoption in organizations driven by its free Power BI Desktop. As a Microsoft Gold partner, we felt restricting xViz Pro visuals in a scenario where the underlying software itself is free has been a misalignment. To fully align ourselves with Microsoft, we are now making xViz Pro suite completely free for Power BI desktop with no feature restrictions or watermarks so that users can build reports & dashboards for free. And just as with Power BI, xViz Pro Suite Users will have to pay only when they need to use their reports in Power BI service or Power BI Premium, Power BI embedded or report server for publishing & collaboration.

What is the catch?

There are no strings or catch here. The xViz Pro visuals are completely free & unlocked for Power BI Desktop. The only exception is xViz Gantt Enterprise (which is not part of xViz Pro suite) – and this will have a watermark on the desktop version of Power BI if the certain ‘enterprise/PRO’ features are used.

When would users/organizations have to pay?

You can subscribe to the commercial version if you need to publish xViz to Power BI service or Power BI Premium, Power BI embedded or report server for publishing & collaboration.
